The increase in Poker Machine numbers and their relocation to local hotels and gaming rooms has been to the detriment of the community. The rise in problem gambling is a terrible consequence of the increased accessibility of poker machines. Indeed, coupled with the resulting social consequences, both the financial and social costs of increased poker machine numbers are unacceptably high.
